Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship is a financial aid program provided by the Indonesian Government for international students from developing countries. It allows students to pursue a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) at one of Indonesia’s top universities. The scholarship was initially introduced at the 10th Conference of Heads of States of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in 1992. In 2002, it expanded its reach beyond NAM member countries to include other developing nations across Asia, Africa, South America, the Pacific, and Eastern Europe.

KNB Scholarship aims to foster people-to-people relations between Indonesia and the recipient countries, nurturing future leaders who can contribute to global development. Students gain access to high-quality academic programs at 31 partner universities by offering the opportunity to study in Indonesia. This experience enhances their intellectual abilities, develops professional skills, and broadens career prospects. It also allows one to live in one of the world’s most diverse and multicultural societies.

In 2024, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, in collaboration with 31 Indonesian universities, will offer the KNB Scholarship to 222 students: 30 Bachelor’s recipients, 162 Master’s recipients, and 30 Doctoral recipients. This scholarship supports academic growth, promotes cultural exchange, and strengthens international relationships.
